Commonly known as the ‘Praying Hands’ Plant, this plant is part of the prayer family, whose characteristic trait is moving their leaves up at night and back down in the mornings! It is native to the rainforests of South America and with its deep green leaves, zipper-like light green variegation, stark light green undersides, and lime green veins this plant will POP in any space!
Being that it’s from a tropical rainforest environment, it thrives in high humidity, warm temperatures, slightly moist soil, indirect bright sunlight and will grow up to 2 ft. high with a spread from 2 – 4 ft. indoors. This makes them great to place on a desktop, bookcase, cubby or small nook in your home that is well-lit, but doesn’t get direct light. Over time this plant may drop some leaves, but don’t be alarmed, this is just a natural occurrence in the plant’s life cycle.
