Commonly known as the Variegated Rubber Tree, or Ficus Elastica Variegata, this fast-growing member of the fig genus is native to the tropics of South Asia. With its robust, pink, green and cream vareigated, taco-shell-shaped leaves, the Tineke will bring a bold pop of color into your space!
Being that it’s from a tropical environment, it thrives in moderate to high humidity, warm temperatures, indirect bright light, slightly moist soil and will grow up to 2 to 10 ft. tall indoors. This makes them great to place on a desktop, bookcase, cubby or small nook in your home that is well-lit, but doesn’t get direct light. Over time this plant may lose some of its leaves, but don’t be alarmed, this is just a natural occurrence in the plant’s life cycle in order to grow the biggest, most variegated leaves!
