Commonly known as the Polka Dot Begonia, this fast-growing plant is native to the rainforests of Southeast Brazil. Feather-shaped, deep green leaves speckled with white polka dots sit atop a contrasting red underside, making the Begonia Maculata the perfect pop of color for your plant collection.
Since it’s from a tropical rainforest environment, it thrives in moderate to high, warm temperatures, consistently moist, but not wet/soggy soil, medium to bright indirect light, and will grow up to 2 to 3 ft. tall indoors. This makes them great to place on a desktop, bookcase, cubby, or small nook in your home that is well-lit, but doesn’t get direct light! Over time this plant may become leggy, but don’t be alarmed, you can easily prune them back and it will promote new, more compact growth.
