Commonly known as the Split Leaf Philodendron, Swiss Cheese Plant or the Hurricane Plant, the Philodendron Adansonii, discovered way back in 1693, is native to tropical rainforests ranging from Mexico, all the way to Panama. With its unique, eye-catching green leaves that look like they had been eaten by a caterpillar, this plant will bring the jungle to your home!
Being that it’s from a tropical environment, it thrives in medium – bright indirect light, moderate – high humidity, warm temperatures and can climb up to 8 ft. indoors. If kept in these conditions and given enough love, they will bloom a spathe and spadix! This makes them great for small desktop plants or as large statement plants in the corner of a room that gets a decent amount of light! You can also provide something for it to climb on and make a cool design! Over time this plant may drop some leaves, but don’t be alarmed, this is just a natural occurrence in the plant’s life cycle.
