Commonly known as the Taiwan Ficus, or the Laurel Fig, this slow-growing bonsai tree is native to Southeast Asia, mainly Malaysia and Taiwan. With its bodacious bottom trunk and full, hair-like top, the Ginseng Bonsai is sure to leave a bold statement in any room!
Being that it’s from a subtropical environment, it thrives in moderate to high humidity, warm temperatures, slightly dry soil, indirect to direct bright light, and will grow up to 1 – 2 ft. tall indoors. This makes them great t to place on a desktop, bookcase, cubby or small nook in your home that is well-lit, but doesn’t get direct light. Over time this plant may lose some older leaves, but don’t be alarmed, this is just a natural occurrence in the plant’s life cycle.
